Meadow View Barn has been converted to give a modern relaxing environment retaining the character of the original structure.
Accommodation comprises a modern open plan living space with large oak windows and French doors that open onto a courtyard garden at the front of the property. Upstairs are two bedrooms with exposed beams, there is also a modern family bathroom.
Relax
The living area is furnished in a contemporary style that is bright and fresh. There are comfortable sofas to relax on at the end of the day.
There is a modern 40” SMART TV plus a Blueray player and Wii games console. There is a small selection of family Wii games and DVD’s. The barns benefit from Superfast WiFi internet access so you can catch up on TV programs using BBC iPlayer. The TV also supports Netflix and Amazon video using your own account.
Dining
The dining area has a good sized table and six chairs. There is also outside seating and table with a charcoal BBQ for alfresco dinning.
There are lots of local restaurants in both Sherborne and Yeovil. The Rose and Crown pub in Trent (1.5 miles) offers award winning food and drink.
If you want a break from cooking it’s just a short walk through the beautiful grounds of Compton House to Trencherman’s Deli where you can buy some fantastic food including ready meals made on the premises. All of the major supermarkets will deliver your groceries so you can order before you leave home.
Cooking
If cooking is your thing the open plan kitchen is well equipped with a fan oven, hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, and dishwasher.
The cupboards are well stocked with all the cutlery and crockery you could need. Whether you are rustling up a quick breakfast or a full roast dinner. We provide some basic herbs, spices and oil plus tin foil, cling film and kitchen roll.
The kitchen also benefits from a washer dryer.

Upstairs are two bedrooms one king size and one twin.
The spacious master bedroom can be configured with a fold out single bed or space for a cot (travel cot available on request).
The master bedroom has a double wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. There is also a smart TV.
The compact twin bedroom has a single wardrobe, chest of drawers and a bedside cabinet.
We provide 100% cotton bed linen and towels. both rooms provide a hair dryer and mirror.
Bathroom
There is a comfortable family bathroom including a large bath with a powerful shower above. There is also a shaving point and heated illuminated mirror.
Outside
The barn is south facing and has a gravel courtyard garden to the front of the barn that gets sunshine all day and into the evening. There is a table and chairs on the patio with seating for 4, perfect to unwind in the evening and take advantage of the BBQ. The garden has a small picket fence with a secure latching gate. There is a dedicated off road parking space for one car.
Pricing
We require a 25% deposit to make a reservation, the remaining rental is due 30 days before arrival. Short breaks from 3 nights are possible for the dates listed .
